Ceiling mounts are normally only used if flat or articulating (arm) mounts can't be used. If you are unsure of what you may need, please email us your situation. Most people that want unique setups are best served with the Articulatng arm mount (MMS SP3).....
However, this is a very popular ceiling mount that can be used as long as you have a flat ceiling and have one ceiling joist to attach to. The middle of TV can be 2-4 ft down from ceiling (depends on size can be more or less)

- This mount will fit 99% of 30" - 52" Plasma or LCD panels, with a money back guarantee if we are wrong. To absolutely ensure compatibility, measure the distance between mounting holes. Mounting holes on television should be 28" or less apart horizontally & 18" or less apart vertically. (see "How to Fit Mounts for more info), or here is a list of the most common brands that will work, with the only exceptions listed below.
